Image
The Imo state governor, Rochas Okorocha has unveiled the statue built in honor of visiting Liberian president, Ellen Johnson Sirleaf. Although, while appreciating the gesture of the state governor, the Liberian president said she has never received such an honor. According to her, she has a statue in her alma mater, Harvard University, but the size of the statue cannot be compared to the one built by the Rochas Okorocha administration. Shortly after unveiling the statue of the Liberian President, Rochas Okorocha was asked by a journalist why he is building statues and he replied: “To immortalize people so our children yet unborn can read a piece of them. History is dying in Africa. We must keep history alive. In the next 100 years to come, most of us will not be here but this will stand for children to read stories and mold their character. If leaders are not mortalized, there will not be history for children yet unborn’.

Distance Yourself From Girls Who Like Bad Boys

Image
I suppose anyone can read this Take although it is more directed to guys to put this classic issue into a better perspective for them and to help them get a good understanding of what’s going on around them, especially with their female peers. People usually say that guys who complain about women not wanting “nice guys” are just mad because she didn’t pick him, but there actually is some element of truth to women not really wanting nice guys. Or rather, decent guys. Quick facts on females who like bad boys: race, country, and age… Some will cry foul - “generalizations! Racism! Booooooo!” yah yah, but it doesn’t really matter; it is what it is, like it or not. And, yes, I am black for those who don’t know. And I’m talking about other races here too. I won’t go as far as to say most, but many young women today - mainly in the Americas, the UK, and Europe - have a thing for bad boys, or just the tough, rough, streetsy types. And it isn’t just black females who are into them like

What About The Women Who Use Their Sexuality As a Weapon?

Image
The demise of H. Weinstein has been swift, but more than that many other famous men have become the subject of ire and scorn by the media and a coalition of female celebrities. A me too campaign was successfully launched which revealed that just about every woman has experienced some form of sexual assault or harassment. The underlying message--there are a lot of scummy men and voiceless women and this needs to be exposed now. It does hide itself as anything other than the attack that it is. It doesn't seek a solution or a healing it only seeks to hurt men the way women have for generations--my garnering tremendous amounts of humiliation and embarrassment at them. But does this solve the issue entirely? Certainly, these men should be exposed and arrested if it's warranted. But, the problem that everyone is really talking about is not Weinstein or Ben Affleck orPolanskii or Woody Allen but of a culture of sexual abuse. And yet despite maligning this culture, many women ESPE
